I agree with all 5 things you mentioned. Lately I’ve been siing lots of “how to” posts and round up posts. Maybe I should try those kind of post.

I like the controversial post and the numbered post. How-tos isn’t bad either…if you know what you’re doing then its fairly easy to do a how-to post.

I’ve been considering doing numbered posts but I find it is not as easy as it appears to be, relative to the topic no doubt. But if they are as popular as you mention it might be worth getting them done.

I’ve read about some of these types of blog posts at a few different places and now that I have been keeping my site going for a few months, I can say that it’s pretty accurate. Whenever I publish a “list” post (top 10 or similar) I get insane amounts of traffic even if I’m not that invested into the topic.

Hot topic posts are the ones i mostly work on. try to provide my readers whats going on HOT in blogsphere or should i say – whats kick ass going on around blogsphere.
