6 WordPress Stats Plugins

by Franklin Bishop on December 16, 2008

Most people want to know what their blogs statistics are. There are many WordPress plugins that can show you your stats. Below I have listed six of the best ones I have used. If you know of any other WordPress stat plugins let me know in the comment form below.

You should always look your statistics so you know what you need to work on. You can see where all of your traffic is coming from and this can benefit you. You’ll know what is working and what is not working.

WordPress Stat Plugins

WassUp
This is the statistic plugin that I am currently using. It gives you real-time statistics which is the part that I really like.

WP-Stats
This is another great WordPress plugin for finding out your statistics. This may be the most popular one among WordPress users. But don’t think that means it is the best.

WordPress Blog Stats
This helps you integrate the W3Counter service into your self hosted blog.

Official StatCounter Plugin
If you use the great service StatCounter for getting your blogs statistics, then you will likely love this plugin. This allows you to use their service in your admin area. This means that you will not have to go to their web site to get statistics.

CyStats
This is another great statistic plugin that I also use. It shows you a little more information about your statistics. A lot of times I like as much information as I possibly can get.

StatPress Reloaded
This was made to keep the Statpress plugin alive. The original creator does not keep the original updated anymore so this was created. Also one of the most popular plugins to get your statistics.

Those are the six best WordPress plugins I have used for stats. There are many more that I have tried that are not as beneficial as these six. But if you have reasons you like others better than let me hear them. I can be persuaded.

I use WP Stats and StatCounter. I wish they had stat plugin that will tell who is subscribed to your blog.

I am sure they have one somewhere. I will look into it.

If you use Mint for your stats (which rocks btw), there is also a plugin to integrate it into your wordpress backend. It iframes it in. Very cool.

Awesome! I’ll definitely check it out see if it works well for what I’m looking for.

I use WP Stats myself. I’m going to check out the WassUp plugin right now. The idea of realtime stats sounds pretty darn good.

Yeah, I absolutely love it. It is great knowing who is coming to your blog during the day.

WP-stats WAS great… I stopped using it in July of this year when it was experiencing regular glitches and slowed down the frontend of my blog… It was tied into ‘post popularity’…

The best stats plugins are those that don’t tie into a central database.

I never knew statcounter had a plugin, thanks for the heads up!

I am using wpstats, sitemeter and google analytic. They are good tools to track the number of visitors. But why those three tools show different number of visitors, in the same day? Until now I have no idea.

I’m also looking for a better stats plugin, I often have problems with wp stats, especially when I update it – it seems to stop working for three days afterwards – and it makes me log in continuously to see stats if I navigate away from the page. I wonder if gremlins live in there. I think I’ll check out the one above that your reader suggests and maybe wassup. Thanks!

Helpful post Franklin. I’m going to test WassUp.
So far I’ve been using only Google Analytics.
