Blog headlines are one of the most important things when you are a blogger. These are also known as your post titles but are usually referred to by copywriters as your blog headlines. I have already written a post about headlines. A lot of people liked it so I have decided to create another post about headlines.
Remember that these are not ones I always use but I do use quite a few of them. I’m sure you have seen these many times. You can just put your own words into the headline examples below. I made these simpler than last time by not giving you so many words to use. Instead I give you one or two words and you have the flexibility of filling in the blank. This can be anything of your choice.
Blog Headlines
URGENT: [Blank]
Urgent will get everyone’s attention. Unless your visitors are immune to this kind of thing.
Unlock [Blank]
I would say unlock the secret of blog headlines. The possibilities are endless.
[Blank] for Geeks
This one grabs the attention of geeks. It also works with other people because no one wants to be left out.
Discover [Blank]
Tell them what they should discover.
Last Chance [Blank]
Usually for a deal of some sort. Last Chance to Get Blogging School before it Closes.
Guaranteed [Blank]
What guarantee? Everyone will want to at least take a look.
Break Up with your [Blank]
Tell them what they should get rid of.
The [Blank] Bible
This was taken from The Bloggers Bible. Anything will look good in front of bible.
Those are eight effective blog headlines that you can always find a use for. Headlines are also good for social media because when people bookmark your post it will use the headline as the bookmark title. Well, that is unless the person changes it. It is more likely that they will not change it. These headlines will get you more social media traffic. So they are good for more than one thing.

When you say “kick ass”, you really mean kicking ass. I love #8. The blogging bible would make a good headline, would it not? I’m keeping this tips handy. Good stuffs, Frank.
Yan
PS: by the way, the comment text area is overflowing to the right sidebar. I just thought I shoiuld inform you on this.
Nope, I mean kick-ass. What browser are you using?
I’m on Mac FF.
Me too, but it looks fine. IDK. Thanks for letting me know though.
This has happened to me since the beginning on a PC with FF. I thought you knew so never said anything. Sorry.
Yan,
Do you know what an Air Mac is?
It’s when you throw your Mac out the window.
… Not a big fan of ‘Unlock’ or ‘Discover’. There’s not that much of a call to action. All it says is, I’ve used all of my other action verbs on the page so I can’t start repeating them yet. lol.
For some reason discover seems to work pretty well. That is why so many Internet marketers use it. I’m happy you have not repeated your other action verbs. haha I hate when I start repeating myself.
I think you forgot one: # Ways to Do Something Clever.
You used that headline template for this post, and it immediately got my attention. And many of my most popular posts also use this formula.
I am pretty sure that I covered this one in my first set of blog headlines. I’ll have to go over there and check.
The headline does usually work well. Like you said, it did grab your attention.
Interesting title names. I’ve never really used “title formulas” (perhaps I should start?) but these could garner some pretty interesting viewpoints. They’re a little vague for my tastes, but I do like the last one. Nice list!
I definitely think it will help if you do some of these formulas or templates. They do seem to work even if you do not like them yourself. I always think to myself that I am creating these for the visitors and not myself.
Hi,
I found these ideas to be very useful even if you decide not to use these methods. It provides a great starting point for anyone who wants to know what makes he’s(she’s) readers click. For me I found out that lists are the best. My top traffic was reached with a post containing a list and a video version of the article. I guess it depends on the niche market you are into.
Same year. Creating a list post always seems to work. You are right though, it does depend on what niche you are in.
Most of them give a sense of urgency to to the reader and the others make people think they are gonna learn something new, something that most people don’t.
Thanks for the examples, they would all work pretty well.
I’m glad you like them. Good point when you say it gives a sense of urgency. There are tons of headline templates that work. I guess you just have to find what works best.
Interesting list. Those are compelling headlines. The problem I’ve been seeing lately is content that can’t hold up against the headline. Both need to deliver.
Break Up with your [Blank]
I’m trying to figure out who I would need to break up with to use this one. Hmm? Sounds catchy just not sure just yet who to break up with.
AWESOME… I used few of them and i saw the result
:D
