Not that I want to bring up John Edwards, the politician that cheated on his wife, but one of his ads from the primary season is something that all bloggers should try to relate to. It was one of my favorite of the primary season and I’m surprised it really didn’t help him get more votes. But enough about John and more about blogging.
In the ad it said the following, “It’s time to stand up against our political parties and show a little backbone, have a little guts!” Now we can get the following out of that one saying by John Edwards. (I still can’t believe I’m relating anything of John Edwards with blogging.
“It’s Time to Stand up against Our Political Parties”
What it is saying about blogging is that it is time to stand up against the blog world. You do not let the bloggers control you just like the political parties are controlling all our lives. You’ve got a standup and try to control the bloggers and the readers. You’ve gotta make them want your content and do whatever it takes to make them that way. And when I mean do whatever it takes, I mean do whatever it takes! Besides spamming.
“Show a Little Backbone”
Basically, we all need to show a little backbone as bloggers. We cannot get discouraged and we cannot take crap from other people. I’m not saying go and bitch at people if they give you crap. If people are giving you a hard time because of what you’re writing about then stand up for your content. If you have to explain it over and over then do it. If you’re not getting enough comments then be tough enough to just continue on to try and make a more successful blog. If you’re not getting the amount of subscribers you want, then just try to push forward and work hard to get more subscribers. Continue to work hard and you will build a successful blog. Hard work pays off.
“Have a Little Guts”
Plain and simple, you have to have a little guts when you are a blogger. You gotta get in there and do something that you might not feel comfortable doing but if it brings you more blog traffic then why not do it? I didn’t want to do the things that I did not feel comfortable doing as a blogger but after having the guts to do it, I became okay with doing it over and over. I’m not talking about anything unethical but there are some people that truly feel uncomfortable commenting on other blog posts. There are many other things that we might feel uncomfortable doing as bloggers but if you want to build a successful blog you’re probably going to have to do them. So show some guts!
Yes, I related blogging to John Edwards but not the person (just his ad
). Who knows who made that ad but thank goodness they did so I could relate it to blogging.

Don’t be afraid to take a stand and piss a few people off in the process. The way I see it is, if you are not living life without worries, then you are leaving alot to be desired.
Free yourself from your own worries and you will enjoy life a hell of a lot more. I learned this one out that’s for sure. It’s one of the main reasons I started blogging.
Yeah, I hear you. It is best if you just throw out everything you have as a blogger. You made some great points.
Blogging is to express out your thoughts and views, I don’t mind if someone doing it in legitimet ways. Every one is free to express thier thoughts – I like the idea of this post basically.
I love controversy!! And I believe everyone else does too! But there has to be point where your just playing the devil or really trying to get your point around. I believe that there is a time for both in the blogging world!

That was a bit random. Yes, guts are good. Don’t be afraid to network. Ask for link swaps. Ask to guest post on other blogs. Stir up controversy. But the end, always be honest. If readers discover or suspect that you are being dishonest then that is the end of it.
I actually really like this article. I wish I could read more like this one elsewhere. I think we really do all have to dig down deep and put all of our effort into our blog. If you don’t then I don’t even know why any of you are wasting your time. I think that I am going to try to stay positive no matter what and just go and try to blog for the long run because it seems as if people to blog for more than six months end up being the ones that are successful.
I really believe hard work pays off. But, you have to have a little luck as well. Don’t forget about the actually business connections to helping you get to where you want go. It’s good to remember that not everyone is going to come and appreciate your blog. So just try to work hard and keep all the negative people out of your mind. But even in the blogging world it still helps to who you know. It’s all about who you know!
