Google pagerank sucks, I know I know. I was surprised to get a few emails talking about how much pagerank sucks. I guess my last article explained what Google pagerank is reminded people how much they don’t like the current system.

Basically, it’s really not that bad. I know it could be a lot better, but basically all pagerank is telling you is how much Google trusts a blog. It gives you some link power, but that shouldn’t really be a big deal. Your pagerank doesn’t help you get more search engine hits and it’s not going to get you more subscribers.

It is just a trust factor. If you are looking to be trusted more and maybe you should then try to increase your pagerank. For the people that think that Google pagerank sucks, just remember it is not going to get you better search engine results. Wordpress SEO will definitely get you more traffic from Google.

As you probably already know, there was a pagerank update for Google a couple days ago. It took me all the way to a PR 3. Some people were hit really hard this time, but the good thing is that the next pagerank update into doesn’t not and will be around August or September. It is actually pretty amazing that this happened considering I just started this Blog at the end of July in 2008. From my point of view, it doesn’t matter what pagerank I have.

Worry about the next pagerank update?

The reason I am saying that it doesn’t matter what pagerank I have is because it obviously doesn’t help you with your search engine traffic (Wordpress SEO). So if you are worried about your pagerank, do not worry about when the next pagerank update is because your pagerank doesn’t matter. All pagerank will do for you is give power to people’s articles that you link to.

When is the next pagerank update of 2010?

If you still care about raising your pagerank for some reason, then the next pagerank update of 2010 will be around August or September. Google seems to update it every three months or so. However, they have been known to updated again in a week after the last update. They do this because they might have realized they had a minor bug in their pagerank formula.

Raise pagerank for next update?

Well, if you were wishing to raise your pagerank still then here are my recommendations based on what I have seen on my blog.

1. Do not link to your own articles and other articles too much. Google sees this as link spamming.

2. Based on number 1, you should not use dofollow on your comments and on your top commentators plugin. This many wings going out that Google has to follow will look spammy. It does seem to be okay if you use your top commentators plugin on your main page.

3. Submit your articles to these 27 do-follow bookmarking sites. It gives each article better pagerank and also your homepage. I do not recommend submitting more than a hundred articles in a day.

4. Last but not least, I went out and bought the Thesis Wordpress theme. The framework of the theme is built perfect for search engine traffic and getting a higher pagerank.

The good thing for all of you is that the next pagerank update for 2009 is not until August or September. So there is plenty of time to get to work and raise that pagerank of yours.

I am starting to test search engine optimization on this blog a little more. With just adding my articles to all that dofollow bookmarking sites, I have been able to get 150 to 200 search engine hits a day.

Now I’m going to test how much better I can do by linking to my articles in dofollow forums. If you are going to do this also, then I suggest that you stay on topic so it does not look like you are just spamming.

For this search engine optimization test, I’ve decided just to use my three most recent articles. I believe I can get some search engine traffic from them but we’ll see. I will use the article on Google’s feedproxy, me being a website grader (which I have tons of submissions already), and the article about if you could retire at 21.

I will submit each one to all the dofollow social bookmarking sites and link to each one on many dofollow forums. I will report back to you after one month of this search engine optimization test. I have a feeling that it will work, but there are tons of ways to get better Google rankings.

I thought feedproxy.google.com on Google was close to being over with but it doesn’t look like it. It is definitely difficult to keep up with what Google is doing these days and just shows with feedproxy. Maybe it doesn’t make a big difference to you but I thought Google put authority and value on domains.

It surprises me that they do this because it is like they are using their own domain feedproxy.google.com and showing our content. Don’t we as Blog owners deserve to be given value and authority to our domains and blogs when it is showing up on search engines?

I thought they were going to take this off but it continues to show up. Some of you may not even know what feedproxy is. Just know this, it is taking away value and authority of our domains and blogs.
