CommentLuv

by Franklin Bishop on August 11, 2008

What I find more and more on the Internet is that people get easily discouraged when they do not have comments on their articles or even videos they put on You Tube. Well, you really need to start giving them a reason to comment.

CommentLuv will do just that. Add this great plug-in to your WordPress blog so that it will show the commenters last blog post at the bottom of their comment. This will give the reader’s the feeling that their comment should actually do something like promoting their own blog.

I have used this plug-in on one of my other blogs and right away I got around 20 more comments than I did before I used it. That is a humongous difference. This plug-in encourages comments and will not let you not become discouraged. It is a great plug-in and your readers will thank you for it.

Remember: This might even make people want to subscribe to your blog just because they know that they can promote their blog and every comment they put on your website. I’m still questioning whether I want to use it on this blog or not. I do not become very discouraged when I do not see a lot of comments but I know many of you do so this plug-in can truly help.

I definitely feel that it helps a lot of people find blogs that they wouldn’t have found otherwise. It’s a great way to use another avenue to bring in traffic.

Does anyone know if CommentLuv works well with the new 2.6 version of WordPress?

I really love this wordpress plug in! It’s just flat out awesome…though I was wondering if it’s this one or another plug in that when I comment and than click on “add comment” It just continues to go and never refreshes back to your blog. I was wondering if it’s the plug in or something on my end or what?

Well, you have no lack of comments now :) Have you looked at any third party comment replacement systems like intense debate? You have to sacrifice storing your own comments in your own database but in return you get some pretty cool features.

Just a quick follow up to my comment. I don’t know if you have heard the news, but Automattic – the company which brings us Wordpress – has just acquired Intense Debate, which I mentioned above. This is really cool because it means that some of the great commenting features found in ID will become integrated with Wordpress itself. And let’s admit it, the standard Wordpress commenting system is outdated and totally inadequate.

This is a great plug-in to get people to comment on your blog. I guess I’m going to have to you create a WordPress blog to use this. I wonder if any other blog platforms can use this plug-in. If anyone knows please let me know.

The advantage of using commentluv is its simplicity and with wordpress, it possibly makes the best plug-in :D

Yeah, but a lot of the most popular blogs do not use it.

I like good comments; thought out comments, informative comments and passionate comments.

Blatant spam where the commentor leaves a url and the “good post” comment are the ones I hate.

I don’t mind if you want to leave your url in the hopes that someone clicks it, just leave a comment that does something for the reader.
