I’m here to announce that I have a new blog design @ FranklinBishop.net. I decided to go with something that looks a little bit more professional. A blog design change can always help you but it can also somewhat hurt you.
I have had a lot of people tell me that they did not currently like my old blog design and I am yet to see that they have came back to my blog. A blog design change can always get those people that didn’t stay the first time comeback and maybe stay the second.
A new blog design will likely help you more than it hurts you. Most likely people that already read your blog will stay even if they don’t really like the new blog design. Psychologically our brains get attached to something and it is not easy to let go of it. This also goes with reading a certain persons blog every day or couple days.
So if you’re likely to gain readers because of the change in blog design then it is obvious that you should do so sometime. Problogger.net went through a major blog design change a year or two ago and gained him thousands of more subscribers. Even little tweaks to your blog design can help. A lot of times people are likely not to like a couple of things that are part of your design.
If you liked this article you might also be interested in my other article about blog design. Also let me know how you like the new design.

Ok you’ve inspired me. I’ve been toying with the idea of changing the look of my corporate blog. I’ve received some negative feedback about the colour scheme. Time to go play with CSS!
If you need help let me know.
The comments could use a little sprucing up, but otherwise I like it. Simple. Nice color scheme. Great title
Thanks. I thought you would be the one to like the title.
I like it. You’ve got a good mix of neutral and active colours but not enough to push the visitor’s focus around the screen. (Thats a good thing)
BTW, you inspired me to update one of my designs a few weeks ago too
Thanks for the kind words back then
Glad to inspire. Thanks for your input.
Nice design but the top right could use some ads or a design or something. looks a little too bare IMO
What about now?
It looks better man, that open space just wasn’t doing it for me.
haha. Thanks
I like your blog design, I’m a big fan of the two column layout. I’m close to what I want with what i have now but it still has a ways to go…my nav menu is ugly and I need to focus on the content part more.

Your nav menu looks fine.
Franklin,
What were the blogs that you sold? As I try to build a blog that has value, I would love to see what your sites looked like when you found a buyer. Did you build them personally, or pay a designer service? Thanks for the info.
Hey Almost Millionaire,
Franklin has already stated that it was in the contract or the buy made an agreement that he could not share those blogs. So he could not break that deal and share the blogs. So for all we know he could be just putting us all on!

I am currently trying to make a deal with the buyer.
I actually like this blog design and lot better. I came along your blog a long time ago and I actually didn’t like your design so I did a comeback. Then I came along your blog again when I read when your comments and I decided to subscribe. That tells me how much a blog design can really help.
I like this layout. Im thinking about changing the header on mine and maybe making it to where it changes with the seasons and special events.
I think I may also want to go with the 3 column so I can place more ads on it.
