How to Add Pages in Wordpress

by Franklin Bishop on December 23, 2008

Many people are new to the Wordpress platform and that is why I have started these tutorials. One thing that may be simple to some people is how to add a page in Wordpress. You might be surprised how many people do not know how to do this because they are beginners. Well, I will simply show you the simple steps to adding a page.

Add Pages in Wordpress

1. First off, you need to login to your blogs admin area. You should have set up your username and password when you installed Wordpress.

2. When you come to your dashboard, click on the write tab. Then go to page. This will bring up a screen that gives you the chance to create a title and the content you want on that page.

3. Once you have filled in everything you hit publish to publish the page. If you would just like to save the page then hit the save button.

You should now have a page added on your Wordpress blog. It will show up with the other pages you have in the navigation section. This is unless you chose to not add the page in your navigation section. Hopefully this has helped you add a page in Wordpress. If there is something I am missing or any other question you have, then just contact me on my contact page.

I have done many other tutorials for Wordpress and I have also wrote posts with some of the best plugins for your Wordpress blog. Make sure to check them out if you haven’t already. It’ll be much like this “how to add a page in your Wordpress blog” tutorial.

Speaking of pages…any idea what to do when the Nav. bar is over capacity but you need them all?

Lol. It sounds like you either need to create subpages and limit which pages show up in your nav bar… (The pagemash plugin works well for this…)

Well, there are javascripts available that will let you scroll left and right to see the rest of the content, but as Shirley said, it’s best not to have too many links in your navbar. Keep it simple.
