One thing people ask me about a line is whether they should write quality posts four or five times a week or a whole bunch of posts (40 to 50) a week. This is a question that can be answered by looking at other blogs.
The blog I want you to look at is Problogger.net. If you look way back in his archives you’ll notice at one time he was writing around 10 posts a day seven days a week. That’s around 70 posts a week. His philosophy for this was a good one.
He believed that the more posts he wrote the better chance he had of people finding him through search engines. I tend to agree with this philosophy because when you’re writing about a certain topic not everyone is going to like every article you write. But if you are writing five posts a day then you are going to have a better chance of satisfying the reader with one of your articles that day.
You will find that people do not want to spend time reading a very long article and lot of times quality articles are lengthy. There is a tendency for a person that is searching the Internet to stay on a website for 30 seconds. So a good short blog post would probably allow them to want to read more. Better yet, if you have five new articles a day then they more likely to click on one of your headlines that is the most interesting to see them.
The quality article will not matter unless that specific post pertains to what they are actually searching for. Remember: You can always write a quality article that is short.

Yeah… Agree with you.
These dayz I don’t have much time to write blogs as I’m working late nite in office, so short and quality articles are my favs
I agree with this but obviously the writer needs to make sure they are not just spouting off rubish to make more posts. I truly believe that if you have nothing to say it is best to keep quiet. There is a saying…
“Better to be a fool that is quiet then to speak up and prove it to everyone”
This is probably a good idea when you are just started out to quickly build a large collection of content. Furthermore, you can see what sticks with readers and what doesn’t. When you are posting that much readers will tend to pick and choose. However, once you become more experienced and have a base readership you can probably get away with dropping down to 1 or 2 quality posts per day that you know your reader base will like (because you studied what they read and didn’t read:) )
I think a line of posts is good right away just so everyone can see all the different things that will be on your blog. After a while I think you can just work on writing a quality post every day since you already have enough articles written that will be somewhere in the search engines. I don’t know though, I see a lot of blogs that are very successful with a high quantity of posts.
I don’t know if I can fully say I agree with you. I think we would both agree on quantity is a great thing. I mean I have heard of many blogs that start will write at least 1 post per day for the first several years.
