Saturday Is the Day for Bloggers

by Franklin Bishop on August 16, 2008

I haven’t really done a good job blogging on the weekends. I did really well on my other two blogs with weekend posts and now I know that it is probably one of the reasons I was able to get so many subscribers.

I was reading an article this weekend in the newspaper and it talked about when most people in the world are online. This shouldn’t be any surprise to anyone, but Saturday has the most people online.

If we actually consider this into your marketing plan then I would say that you need to make sure that you post Friday and Saturday so that all those people can see that you are always posting new content. You wanna turn these Internet users into subscribers. The best way to get more subscribers is to of course be active during the Internet rush hour, SATURDAY!

I know way too many bloggers who only post Monday through Friday and forget about all the people that get on the Internet Saturday. I’m sure all of you will see a lot more traffic to your blog plus more subscribers if you are posting new content on the weekends. If someone comes to your blog and realizes that you have not posted new content than they probably will decide to not trust that they will get something new to read from you everyday.

I know I want new content, daily content, quality content, and a lot of content. If people want these kind of things then you need to make sure to give it to them. Saturday is the best day for all of us bloggers so take advantage of it. It’ll only take you a hour Saturday morning to write a new post, so make sure you do it. Try to be active in social networks as there is a wealth of blog readers at your fingertips.

Our traffic always drops on the weekends compared to weekdays when we don’t post. I think it depends on what niche you’re blogging for.

tThe other thing I should also mention is how obviously there are less people on the Internet during the summer. So hopefully new bloggers don’t get discourage if they start in the summer.

You probably are right about it matters what niche you are in. I’m still seeing most of my traffic during the week.

I think the best day for bloggers is actually Monday. On Saturday and Sunday people are usually doing other things with their families. However, I would think in the winter months that you would find a lot of traffic on weekends just because people usually stands side. They would be interesting to go deeper into these statistics.

I have heard that Sunday is typically the slowest internet day. So even if you post at least once a day, it is probably not a good idea to put your best or most interesting stuff up on Sunday. But I don’t know about Saturday in terms of reading blogs (as opposed to simply being online). If you post consistently Monday thru Friday, though, I think that people will take note of that regularity and appreciate it.

This is very true, and I have seen this before. I can see an increase usually around Friday night on into Saturdays. Also, one more thing to think about is the weekends coming up until Christmas. Right around Christmas time is a great time for all those stay home weekend shoppers!
