Seth Godin: Make People Feel as if They’re Part of Your Tribe

As many of my readers know I do love to read a whole bunch of different blogs on the Internet. That’s the way of I find new ways of making money on the Internet and other things. I am a religious reader of Seth Godin’s blog. He has a certain way he writes that really makes me enjoy taking time out of my day and reading his posts.

He has just announced his new book today. It is called Tribes: We Need You to Lead Us. This is bound to be just as insightful as his previous books. He is inviting people who pre-order the book to join an exclusive group to share ideas and thoughts and get to know eachother. You will be a member of the “tribe”.

This is an interesting and well thought out way to drum up interest in your new book. This is also a good way to demonstrate the actual principal at the book that he is trying to explain and go into. You can read more at his invitation post and he very clearly states how Tribes are not open communities that anyone can join.

This is what gives the tribe a value. It makes people want to signup because they are going to be part of something that others are not. So I would recommend checking into this book. It is sure to be just as interesting and entertaining as his others.

Would you become part of a group on the Internet if it was not open to everyone? Just a thought.

I wouldn’t call his site a blog. He doesn’t allow commenting. Not very Web 2.0.
