Like it or not your blog design does matter to people. You do not want to do anything that would scare people off. It is better to be a little conservative in your blog design then to try to make it look too good and end up being too extreme.
When I talk about an extreme blog design it means that it is not good. These are things such as having too many colors, a hard logo to read, really bright colors, and too many advertisements. People really like blogs that are very simple so that they can easily just read the content. I have seen more and more that the most boring looking blogs have a lot of subscribers.
One blog design that you might want to check out is Digital Inspiration. I have read it ever since it started and it still is the same looking blog that it started out as. It is better to go with something simple then to go too extreme.
A good way to try and find good colors to go together is to use a color wheel. It is best to use colors that are opposite of each other on the color wheel. These colors will equal out each other and not give your visitors that extreme feeling.
Another simple looking blog that also looks good is Fuel Your Creativity. The red makes it look simple. The logo looks really nice using this color but it is not an extremely bright color (which is good). The white background is always an easy way to go as it is one color that doesn’t normally scare visitors away. The color white also allows you to use the color of black as the content color. Black writing on a white background is usually the easiest to read for any person.

Yeah. Your design too is awesome and congrats on having a good color combination. Blue, white, green and black is my favorite color combination and its just makes me feel inspired as i see these colors on websites.

I think a good blog design will always help you. I think we shouldn’t worry too much about blog design though because content will always be king. I know I’m going to worry about writing good content because that is what is going to help me get subscribers to my blog. Great article.
