8 Wordpress Social Bookmarking Plugins

by Franklin Bishop on January 6, 2009

You of course have to love Wordpress plugins for social bookmarking. Every Blog owner would love to have their article or post bookmarked on a social media web site. Well, these eight plugins will definitely do that for you. Well, not all by themselves, but it will definitely make it easier for visitors that come to your site to bookmark your post. So I definitely recommend using at least one of these Wordpress plugins.

Wordpress Social Bookmarking Plugins

ShareThis – The ShareThis WordPress plugin provides a quick, simple to use, and unobtrusive way for users to add your post to many social bookmarking sites, or to send your post link via email, AIM, Facebook, MySpace and more.

Add to Any Share/Save/Bookmark Button – Helps readers share, save, bookmark, and email your posts and pages using any service, such as Delicious, Digg, Facebook, Twitter, and over 100 more. The button comes with Add to Any’s customizable Smart Menu, which places the services visitors use at the top of the menu, based on each visitor’s browsing history.

Add Me Dichev – Add Me Dichev simply renders social bookmark buttons with icons after the post body. The plugin generates automatic bookmarks links for more than 60 social networks. It is very simple to modify this plugin and to add, edit or remove bookmark buttons.

Bookmark Me – A simple and light plugin to add social bookmarks buttons to post and pages. I’m focusing in collecting non-english bookmarks services.

SocioFluid – Icons for major Social Bookmarking websites: Digg, Reddit, del.icio.us, dzone, stumbleupon, blinklist, blogmarks, furl, newsvine, technorati, magnolia. More to be added in the next versions.

SociBook – You can definine what and in what order you want to show spezific bookmarking Services.

iBegin Share – iBegin Share is an easy to use tool that allows you to make it easy to share and spread your content across the web. Features built-in support for email, the social web & bookmarks, Word Document, PDF, and printing.

Share+ by Grouptivity – Empower your readers with a social tool for sharing, saving and discovering new content with the click of a button. Our plugin provides social features for sharing content across all major social bookmarking sites and a clipping feature for adding text, images and personalized messages for friends, family and co-workers.

Hopefully you are already using one of these plugins on your Blog if you have a Wordpress Blog. If not, then I highly recommend that you try one of these Wordpres plugins out. It will make it a lot easier for your readers and visitors to your site to bookmark your post. Internet users love things that are easy so get them what they want. It will save them a lot of time if you use one of these social bookmarking plugins.

Great social plugins! My favorite right now is Sociable which can be downloaded from yoast: http://yoast.com/wordpress/sociable/

Simply adds the links for you at the bottom of each post and you can select which social network you want to include. Pretty much the same like the other plugins. I like this one the most because there are no pop ups or drop down boxes.

I use what I think is the most popular one on the list, ShareThis.
It works pretty well with most of the themes on my blogs, and its extremely compact. I think i’m gonna have to switch over to sociable, thanks for the link Rowell

I’ve tried almost all of these. I stuck with the Add to Any button like the one you have here. More shares have come through from that great little plugin than the other methods. According to my analytics tracking people respond to it more than shareThis and even single icons. Choice is good though, great roundup.

Yeh, the dtop two on the list are definitely the most popular. I’ve used both, but now use none. I’ve opted out for text links.
